The Sulawesi earthquake and tsunami:
what happened and what we know now

On September 28, a severe earthquake (7.5 Mw) and tsunami hit Sulawesi, Indonesia, claiming more than 2000 lives. Davide (ESR 6) and William (ESR12) give a detailed overview of this series of cascading natural disasters, present a scientific view on the events and discuss the lessons we can learn for early-warning systems.
